The Kingdom of Heaven is a mystery. God’s mysteries, however, are laid out in plain sight. They can be seen and understood when we accept Jesus’ teaching and trust the Holy Spirit to reveal them to our hearts. Too often, we assume Jesus’ teaching about the Kingdom of Heaven is about how to enter Heaven after we die. But the Kingdom of Heaven is a realm we enter here on earth. When we enter this realm, we enjoy access to all the promises, provisions, and protections promised by God. In other words, we enter Heaven on Earth!

Keys of the Kingdom: Effective Prayer & Absolute Authority

There are three dimensions we can enter as believers:
- The first is to be born again. The Word of God provides clear instructions about how to be born again, believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess Him as Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
- The Kingdom of God. John 3:3 tells us: “unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Entering the Kingdom of God is where we surrender to the Lordship of Jesus and pursue life as a disciple.
- The Kingdom of Heaven. The parable of the sower explains how we enter the Kingdom by hearing the word of the Kingdom, then meditating on it until it is planted like a seed in the good soil of our heart. Luke 17:21 points out that the Kingdom is within, and therefore, it is clear that we enter through the heart.
All of these scriptures tell us how to enter into the Kingdom, but they do not tell us how to function once we’ve entered. But Jesus tells us clearly how to function once we are IN the Kingdom realm. These subtle truths laid out in plain sight are brought alive by the Holy Spirit.
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)
Religion has taught us to pray for things that have already been freely given. Even worse, religion tells us to pray for things that Jesus told us not to pray for.
One of the most disbelieved truths in the Bible:
God has given us authority on Planet Earth. When we use our authority to establish God’s Kingdom on earth, the Holy Spirit provides the power.
In Matthew 15:19, we discover a simple truth: if a matter has been settled in Heaven, we should not pray to establish it on earth. We should use our authority to bind or loose! If it has been declared illegal by the death of Jesus, we must stop it. If it has been declared legal by the resurrection of Jesus, call it forth!
Binding and loosing is like opening and closing doors. When you open a door you allow things to happen, i.e., come into your life. When you close a door, you prevent things from happening in your life.
When we know what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection, we are clear about what has already been settled in Heaven.
